Day 39, July 25th, was a "where is my ski jacket" cool 75 degrees. Of course I only jest, but when you have been biking in 90+ weather for the last month, a sudden drop in temp can feel chilly, especially on bike. It was refreshing not to be sweating like a hog, and each of us celebrated in our own ways. Phil (above) had his own unique style of celebration. Don't ask friends, I can't say...
The picture above was in a restuarant called CJ's in the town of Yale, Michigan. You may not know this, but Yale is the bologna capital. And with us there in the Michigan shirt is Jackie, Bologna Queen 1993. Everyone who was anyone was in the bologna court in Yale. But besides that, she served us one of the best meals I had on the whole trip. We were just bummed that we were a couple days early for the Bologna Festival. But things were getting livened up by the speakers blasting music throughout town. Go ahead and sing if you have to...we did.   "My bologna has a first name it is O S C A R..."   After lunch we had to finish our ride in the rain. Only our third day of rain, so I can't complain. After arriving in Port Huron, MI just outside the Canandian border, Shawn and I were pleased to enjoy an evening out with our cousin Melissa. Tomorrow we cross the bridge into Canada and go international.
