William Maxey - 1899 - November- William Maxey died at his home west of Kansas, I.T., last Thursday morning after a severe illness. The remains arrived here Friday evening, and interred in the Seymore graveyard. The deceased was a brother of John and Bennett Maxey of this place. He resided in this vacinity for a number of years and leaves a number of friends and relatives to regret his untimely demise.

NOTE: LYDIA, ABNER AND ABBY WERE ALL BLIND as Jane was so assume it was a hereditary disease. After William's death, the children and Lydia went to the Benton County Home. No obits yet found for Lydia or Abby.

One of ABNER'S OBITS: Abner MAXEY, 56, an inmate of the Benton County Home for the past 23 years, and blind for many years died at the home 3-6-1933. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. W.B.HART, who is an inmate and chaplain of the count institution. Burial was in the county section of the Benton Cemetery. The deceased is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lydia MAXEY and a sister, Miss Abby MAXEY, both of whom are also blind and are inmates of the Benton County Home.

ABNER'S Second Obit: Abner Maxey, 56, died at the county home late Monday night following an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were held there Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. B. HART, a retired minister, conducting the services. Burial was made in he city cemetery. Maxey's mother, Mrs. Lydia Maxey, and her daughter, Abby Maxey, are also inmates of the county home. The three were brought to the home from near Robinson (AR) about 30 years ago and have been wards of the county since then. Ed Young of Pea Ridge (AR) who was a deputy sheriff at the time went after them in a wagon. Bill Carroll was superintendent of the institution at that time.
