There are several ways to rate an actor: Awards won, dollars earned. The one I like is the standing and range of the people with whom they have worked. The four standouts here are: Leo McKern who has acted with Brooke Shields, Jodie Foster, Alec Guiness, Lauren Bacall, Meryl Streep, the Beatles, Laurence Olivier, Kim Novak, Michelle Pfeiffer, Richard Burton, Peter Sellers, Bette Davis, then Jack Thompson has acted with William Holden, Alicia Silverstone, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Sharon Stone, Kirk Douglas, Raquel Welch, Sally Field, Ingrid Bergman, Clint Eastwood.
We'll get to Judy Davis and Peter Finch forthwith. There is the other alternative: who have they been involved with? Peter Finch and Vivien Leigh, Nic and Tom, Vicky and Michael. But that should be dealt with elsewhere.
