Welcome to Inkwell

What is Inkwell?

In the olden times before ball point pens and the convenience of computers, people needed plumes(feathers) and ink to write out everything from public documents to personal letters. In that time, though it came in various sizes and forms as time went on, they called what stored the ink "inkwell". Another variation on the meaning is taken when you break off the phrase into "ink" and "well" to equal "ink well". In modern pop culture it taken to be synonymous to tattoos - and printing. In slang "ink[s] well" means that the ink was readily absorbed by the skin - or paper - leaving a clear mark.
That's what this news website aims to do - leave its mark.

Inkwell is an experiment of sorts, a project intended for the webauthor's Online Journalism(J117) class, that aims to cater to news and issues in media, on campus and in the country.
