Rebellious Teen
To all parents everywhere

What if I decided to dye my hair pink What would you do? What would you think? And do you really care if I stink? I mean, I'm just a rebellious teen You may think all my friends are fools Hey, we've only bent a couple of rules It's not like we're as stubborn as mules Come on, I'm just a rebellious teen So what if my clothes are a little weird It's not like I've decided to grow a beard Really, it's not as bad as you feared Don't worry, I'm just a rebellious teen "Everyone's doing it", doesn't that mean I should? I'm sure you'd do it too if you could You were young once, were you all that good? I bet you were just a rebellious teen Does the way I act freak you out? The way I look does, no doubt You know, that's not really what I'm all about But what do you care? I'm just a rebellious teen You want to know why I do all of this? It's one simple reason that you can't hardly miss Could I get your attention anyway else? Because, after all, I'm just a rebellious teen ~(c) Hollie, July 10, 2000 always you alien Poem Index
