Biography

Blink 182 was founded somewhere in the San Diego area. The band was started by Mark Hoppus (3/15/72), Tom DeLonge (12/13/75) and Scott Raynor. The band quickly recorded some demos and soon after signed a record deal. Their first album, "Cheshire Cat", was not widely known but gained tha band some popularity.

In 1997 the band released the album "Dude Ranch." The album featured the hit singles "Dammit" and "Josie." The songs received a great deal of air play and the album sold over 500,000 copies.

During 1997 and 1998 the band underwent some changes. Drummer, Scott Raynor, left the band. It was originally reported that he left to go back to school. Recently their have been rumors that the split was less amicable. (just rumors)

Mark and Tom went out and got Travis Barker (11/14/75), from the aquabats, to replace Scott. Travis drums with a fury and is a great adition to the band.

In 1999 Blink 182 released their third album, "Enema of the State." The album continues to do well and the band is now an MTV favorite. With the popularity of Blink rising it is now possible to find "Cheshire Cat" in stores. A demo album, "Buddha", is also widely available.

The band is on a constant mission of fun. They have injected some humor into what is an often to serrious world. The boys show no signs of stopping and will hopefully be around for a long time to come.
