I guess that you could say that Ryoko's mom is Washu although she wasn't technically born. Washu created Ryoko about 2000 years ago from her ovum and masu (this big blob thing). Ryoko was created to learn the full potential of 3 gems that even the great scientist Washu was stumped by. But sadly, Washu didn't created Ryoko of her own free will. Soon after, Kagato controlled Ryoko, making her one of his pawns in his demented game. She was forced by Kagato to become a space pirate (which soon became ingrained in her very nature) and attack the planet Jurai. Yosho then chased her to the Earth, took away her gems, and sealed her in a cave which she was imprisoned in for 700 years until Tenchi released her. Well, when your in a cave for 700 years, what do you do? Well, Ryoko came to watching her surroundings which included Tenchi. She watched him grow up and soon came to love him.

Ryoko's source of power is 3 gems. She can have 0 to 3 gems at one time. When she has 3, they are located at each wrist and her neck and her full power can rival that of Tsunami's. Ryoko's powers are teleportation, creating an energy sword, flying, hair needles, regeneration, energy blasts, taking over inanimate objects, summoning demons, duplication, walking through walls, and her most famous...urm..the boob attack.
