Sasami is the second crowned princess of Jurai with Ayeka being the first. Sasami is also 700 years old while looking only 10.

Sasami was killed during Ryoko’s attack on the Imperial Palace of Jurai (under Kagato’s orders) when a damaged Jurain ship crashed into the tree nursery where Sasami was playing. Sasami fell off the numerous catwalks but was fortunately revived by Tsunami’s assimilation. That means that Tsunami and Sasami will become one and the same when Sasami becomes older.

Sasami was first seen on Ayeka’s ship Ryu-oh. When she found out about Ayeka’s plan to search for Yosho, she stowed away on Ryu-oh. When Tenchi and Ryoko were captured and brought to Ayeka’s ship, it was Sasami that freed Tenchi and told him to steal Ayeka’s headpiece that controls Ryu-oh.
