Tsunami is one of the three goddesses in Tenchi Muyo. Tsunami is the light side, Washu the grey, and Tokimi the dark. They are all sisters’. Tsunami is also the “flag ship” of Jurai, which is supposed to be the most powerful of all Jurain ships. Tsunami is the brain of the ship (commander, captain, whichever synonym you choose), and the defender of the royal family.

Tsunami has the ability to create ten lighthawk wings (the most anybody has been able to form) while Tenchi can only form three.

Also, when Ryoko attacked the planet of Jurai, a damaged Jurain ship crashed into the tree nursery where Sasami was playing. Because of the jolt, Sasami fell off one of the numerous catwalks and fell to her death. In order to save Sasami, Tsunami assimilated with her. An explanation of this is that, when Sasami grows older, she will become Tsunami and Tsunami will become Sasami. They will be one and the same.
