About Deathbite
Some of you have asked about where I got Deathbite's name. I call him Deathbite because he looooves to chew. Mostly he'll sit chewing on his nylabone or rawhide next to me while I'm doing my homework or typing on the computer. I normally call him whatever I want, like "Baby" for example. And yeah, he responds. (he'll just give me a funny look before he does what I want him to.)
He's pretty good with the baths. As a matter of fact, he totally loves baths. ;-) Sometimes he looks so content it makes me jealous...
I know he is really big, but he's so sweet. Good company whenever I need it. Despite the fact that lots of people think Rotties are really vicious and mean, I think that Deathbite (in spite of his name) is the total opposite.
For those of you that asked, Deathbite is about 7 years old now. He's grown a lot since I've had him. His first walk was somewhat...tiring and stressful, but now he pulls it off w/out a hitch. :-)
Rainy season is heck sometimes 'cause Deathbite loves outdoors and he is nosy, too. So many times he'll come back from a walk all muddy and dripping wet. Once when I was walking him, it was hailing and there were tiny balls of hail in his coat!!
And perhaps the question I get asked the most is how Deathbite got on the car hood. :-) Well, one day I decided I wanted to teach Deathbite the "Up" command. I was teaching him in the garage when he got a little too carried away and went all the way up onto the car! I tried to get him down, but the poor thing was afraid to jump down. Finally, I had to grab him and carry him off. (he is not the lightest dog in the world, BTW) However, Deathbite was still afraid to get off so he sunk his front paws into the hood of the car as I hauled him off, leaving some scratches.
