What Are Inhalants?


 

   Inhalants are breathable chemical vapors which produce 

        psychoactive effects.

 

   Solvents - Industrial or household products that contain

      solvents, including: paint thinners, cleaners, gasoline, and 

        glues.

 

   Gases - Gasses used in household or commercial 

        products.  For example: Butane Lighters, Spray Paints, 

        hair spray, deodorants, and nitrous oxide (laughing gas).

 

   Nitrites - Aliphatic nitrites, including: cyclohexyl nitrite, which 

        is available to the general public; amyl-nitrite, which is 

        available only by prescription; and butyl-nitrite, which is 

        now an illegal substance.
