Buick Car Club

Since a boy I have always liked and been interested in cars, particularly the Buick make.

Over the years of my adulthood I have owned the following models:
          1937 straight 8 sedan,
          1938 straight 8 sedan,
          1948 straight 8 sedan,
1953 Roadmaster sedan. (the one in the photo)

I was a foundation member of the Buick Car Club of Australia and the first Club Secretary on a temporary basis as I had important employment and other hobby matters which required a lot of time and attention. My wife and our feline friends of three in number, travelled many times between Wangaratta and Melbourne over six years at week-ends when I was off duty from Radio 3NE Wangaratta, The Voice of the North East.

These week-end round trips of 464 kilometres in total were to see our daughter and son who were attending colleges for their education.

I came to Melbourne after being assistant manager to 3NE and becoming Studio Manager for the Victorian Broadcasting Network consisting of five Victorian country stations.

With all the travelling, the various Buick models I drove, never let me down. Hence the old saying "When Better Cars are built Buick will build them".
