Logan Mackay's Homegrown Swing Bike

Side View

I just happened upon your swing-bike page- I can't believe it!! I got the idea to make a rear-wheel steering bike in high school shop class three years ago, and proceeded to chop up two Schwinns and "reconfigure" them for a true diamond frame. I never got around to finishing it with paint and decent parts, and it's been hanging in storage for a while now. I remember amazing people by riding around the edge of a manhole cover on a full size bike! The idea is so much fun. I had no idea so many other people had thought to make one too! A little while ago, I came across an original Swing-Bike, and didn't find it nearly as fun with the return springs keeping it under control. Have you heard of anyone riding these swingers on half-pipes? It's a good deal of fun...

If you want to add these pics of my "Schwing", I'd get a real kick out of it.

Thanks for the great site!

Webmaster's Note: Thanks Logan for the story and pics! I really like the lugs on the headtube section of the donor bike. If anyone else has a Swing Bike story or pics, feel free to e-mail me.
