Juan DeLeon on the Cover of The Houston Chronicle (Texas Magazine)

Houston collector Juan DeLeon was featured in Texas Magazine, part of The Houston Chronicle newspaper and website. Of all the bikes he has, the Swing Bike makes the cover!
The article states: "His electric-green Swing Bike likewise is pretty fine, with its Sting-Ray-like banana seat, sissy bar and handlebars, and something more: Unlatch a big bolt under the seat, and the rear wheel can swing independently about 45 degrees left or right."
"The Swing Bike was manufactured long before MTV's Jackass set the standard for the daredevil stunts moms love so well: It was made for only two years, in 1976 and 1977, says DeLeon, before being discontinued because kids were getting hurt."

Webmaster's Note: Thanks to Juan DeLeon for letting me know about this Swing Bike in the news. If any one out there has any other Swing Bike memorabilia or related news, please give me a shout. I'd love to feature it on this site! Bob Hufford
