Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation Addition

At this point, all that's left of the Canal is an dent in the earth, shaded by a big old tree.

The Cuyahoga River meanders through a flood plain area, following the power lines.

This flood pole shows that the Cuyahoga doesn't always meander slowly along. It shows a high water mark of  12' 6"  in 1959 down to  3'9" in 2000. I'm old enough to remember 1959!

The ALCOA Forge Overlook is a great place to check out the river if you don't mind the climb or the slight smell of a the forge.

Reminding us that this is an industrial area,  the ALCOA display includes a punch press and several of the products produced in the plant in the background.

Just five miles more to the end of the Towpath. We'll have to wait a few more years until the final section is finished. For now it's back to the Canalway Center.
