He was married to Apollonia Watzes VAN DER WEYDE (daughter of Watze Klazes VAN DER WEYDE and Akke (Agatha) Harmens POELSMA) on 31 May 1890 in Leeuwarderadeel. Apollonia Watzes VAN DER WEYDE was born on 4 Jan 1863 in Dronrijp. She died on 21 Dec 1935 in Idaarderadeel. She was buried on 24 Dec 1935 in Warga (Idaarderadeel).
