The car also boasts a manoeuvrable ground-to-air missile launching pad, and a needle thin "sonic" laser beam which allows 007 to listen in on conversations taking place in buildings in the vicinity of the car. As usual, rockets are fitted behind the headlamps.
What's more, the car can be driven by a remote handset, and is even able to drive itself to the handset by using sensors built into the car.
Inevitably, this must be the best car since The Spy Who Loved Me's Lotus.

Set to become the "big brother" to the Z3, which was introduced in GoldenEye, the Z8 will use the mighty 5,0 litre V8 powerplant to push 300kW of power through the rear wheels of this mean machine, allowing 0-60 in less than 5 seconds.

The launch of the Z3 roadster in Goldeneye created enormous demand for that vehicle, which completely sold out in its first production year, and today is the best selling roadster in the world. As of last year BMW has built more than 150,000 BMW roadsters, manufactured in Spartanburg, SC, that have been exported to 120 countries around the world. In Tomorrow Never Dies, Bond drove the ultra-luxurious 75OiL.

The Z8 will go on sale in early 2000.
