"Renard"
The Fox
(Robert Carlyle)
Experience
The
Full Monty, Face, Carla's Song, Cracker
(tv),
Trainspotting.
The
subject of much speculation before his role was officially announced, Robert
Carlyle's Renard is TWINE's bad guy. Carlyle was on the cards to play this
part for what seems like ages. Apparently, he was waiting to read the script
before he committed himself. So, does that mean, then, that the script
is a good one? We hope so.
Carlyle
has had his head shaved for the role, so that we can see the scar above
his eye resulting from a shot to the head. The bullet remained there, because
removal would be more dangerous. This has resulted in Renard's inability
to feel pain, or pleasure. So I suppose this makes him the ultimate killing
machine. Only a fatal shot to the head will be able to stop him, and, as
another popular web site reported, "James Bond has been ordered to deliver
that shot".
Renard
has taken part in much high-profile assassination work, and even kidnapped
Elektra King, demanding a $5 million ransom. The ransom was not paid, and
Elektra escaped, killing two guards on her way out.
Although
he is a young villain, just like Sean Bean's Trevelyan (GoldenEye),
Renard poses a real physical threat to Bond, which should ensure some great
fight scenes! |

Colonel
Akakievich
(Claude-Oliver Rudolph)
Experience
Der
Kalte Finger, Das Boot.
A
Kazakhstani Army commander working with Dr Christmas Jones on the disarmament
of a testing facility in Chechnya. Claude Oliver Rudolph, a tough German,
is perfect for the part and has had a great deal of experience doing action
in movies. His character, Akakievich, was trained by the Russian army,
and it is still unclear how this ugly brute will oppose 007, but it appears
that he is in cahoots with Renard. |
