Filming's finished but there's still a lot left to do

The crew of The World Is Not Enough may be celebrating the wrap of the film on 9th July but the work of Jim Clark and his team has only just begun.
Clark is faced with the mammoth task of editing the many scenes into place so that the film really starts to take shape.
The editing stage is only one part of the vast process that begins once filming has finished.
Special effects shots must be added, the titles must be designed and the theatrical trailer will be produced. Then, once the editing is well under way, David Arnold will begin composing the music for the film and publicity campaigns to coincide with the release of the film will be finalized.

Paella and TNT: The Bond crew visit Spain

Since filming began in February, Channel 4's The Big Breakfast has been running regular updates on The World Is Not Enough. Thanks to that splendid chap Peredur Glyn, we have made available a wealth of exciting pictures from the film's two Spanish locations.
As Michael Apted explained in an interview, they were looking for somewhere that had a "slightly magical quality to it". They found that place in Quenka in central Spain, which was used for action sequences involving deadly helicopters. The second location doubled for Kazakhstan and was used briefly for some desert scenes which included an army encampment and a convoy of speeding trucks. The climax is the wholesale destruction of a vast nuclear test facility.

Pierce opens splendid new British Film Museum

Who better to inaugurate Bradford's fantastic new National Museum of Photography, Film and Television than the man who plays one of cinema's most celebrated characters? After a major £16 million redevelopment, the museum needed a prominent figure to launch the festivities - and they managed to bag Pierce Brosnan for the event, which took place on Saturday 26th June.
The Museum boasts three large cinemas which it claims can show every film format in the world, and visitors can explore the world of the media through a combination of permanent galleries, temporary exhibitions and of course their three screens.

Film enthusiast Tim Moore was there, and sent us a full report, which you can read here.
