Courthouses, Boone County, Kentucky

The Boone County Court Order Book for January 1801 reads: "... Court held for the County of Boone at the Courthouse . . ." This Courthouse was a log building and was used for sixteen years until a large brick structure, with brick floors and brick columns, and measured 40 by 30 feet. It was built in 1817. This building was remodeled several times and later demolished after a fire. In 1889, Boone County built its third courthouse, at a cost of $20,000, which is still in use today.
