Absalom Graves(1768 - 1826)Absalom Graves was born in the State of Virginia, (Culpepper, now Madison County, Virginia) November 28th, 1768. In July 1788, he was awakened by Divine Grace, to a sense of eternal realities, at Rapidan Baptist meetinghouse, under the ministry of Rev. George Eve. In the year 1797, he removed to Boone county, Kentucky, and joined Bullittsburg Church. On 1 April 1805 he was sworn in as Clerk of the new Circuit Court that replaced the old Quarter Sessions Court. In 1810, he commenced his ministerial labors in the Bullitsburg Baptist Church in which he was productive for many years, though he was never formally ordained. He died on Thursday evening, the 17th of August, 1826. m. Elizabeth Graves 5 Mar 1816 (Marr. Bk. A-21), performed by Christopher Wilson.
