Lloyd, Nelson Marvin (1821 - 1882), teacher and engineer; father of John Uri Lloyd.m. Sophia Webster (1820 - 1903)
In the 1860 Census taken 12 July in the town of Petersburg, Lloyd is listed as being a merchant 39 years of age. The value of his real estate is said to be $ 1,400; and his personal estate to be worth $6,000. Sophia was 40 years old. John Uri was aged 12, and had attended school within the year. Nelson A. was 9, and had attended school within the year; Curtis, the only family member born in Kentucky, was 1 year of age. Also living with the family were Emma Webster, age 11, listed as a ward, and Sarah Lloyd, age 23, listed as a school teacher.
Lloyd was listed in the Kentucky Gazette 1865-1866 as a teacher in Florence. 10 Mar 1859 "N. M. Lloyd's school closed." 24 Mar 1859 moved from Petersburg to Florence; 3 Apr 1860 Loder notes, "N. M. Lloyd bot out (sic) J. N. Earlys store." The next day he records, "Mr Lloyd & Mr Early commenced invoicing the goods in the store." 19 Apr 1860 to Petersburg from Florence. 28 Aug 1862 moved from Petersburg to Florence. (all noted by Loder)
