My Favorite Books and Authors...
I read alot and will read just about anything. I don't know if anyone else out there reads as much as I do, but I just thought I would list some of the things I have read and enjoyed. This list is in no particular order.
Anne Rice
I have enjoyed reading the Vampire Lestat series and the Mayfair Witches series. I also enjoyed the Mummy very much. This woman has the uncanny ability to make the characters become so real, so human, although some of them are not quite so human.
Stephen King
Okay so you think Stephen King is overrated maybe. He writes quite a bit and I think it would take me forever to read it all. However I do like the Dark Tower series he has started and I hope he will finish it soon. If you haven't read these books, do so. I think this man is great at scaring the hell out of people. He takes our nightmares and puts them on paper. Oh if I could only write like him....
Jean Auel
If you haven't read Clan of the Cave Bear and her other books then you are really missing out. These books are terrific. If archeologists could take their stories and make them this interesting, none of us would think ancient history was dry and boring again.
V.C. Andrews
All of these books are good. They are probably written more for men than women because the stories are all told through the eyes of women who tell of their childhoods. I enjoyed all of them immensely and, yes, I have read every single book written by this author.
David Eddings
If you like fantasy, then you will love these books. Nothing I could say would do this man credit. Read them for yourself.
Louis L'Amour
I love this man's westerns. He makes people seem so realistic. He doesn't make them seem super human or unbelievable. I really enjoy these books.
Jude Devereaux
The best historical romance novels I have ever read. This woman really does her research. It has all of the elements that I enjoy in a romance novel: a good story line, believable characters, interesting settings, some sex (but not too graphic), strong women, and characters you would want to meet in real life. If you have read historical romances before and didn't really care for them, read one of hers and I am sure you will change your mind.
