Genesis (1:1-5) In the beginnning, when God created the universe, the earth was formless and desolate. The raging ocean that covered everything was engulfed in total darkness, and the spirit of God was moving over the water. Then God commanded, "Let there be light" - and light appeared. God was pleased with what he saw. Then he separated the light from the darkness, and he named the light "Day" and the darkness "Night." Evening passed and morning came - that was the first day.
Exodus (14:15-18) The LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out for help? Tell the people to move forward. Lift up your walking stick and hold it out over the sea. The water will divide, and the Israelities will be able to walk through the sea on dry ground. I will make the Egyptians so stubborn that they will go in after them, and I will gain honor by my victory over the king, his army, his chariots, and his drivers. When I defeat them, the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD."
Psalms (16:1-8) Protect me O God; I trust in your for safety. I say to the LORD, "You ar my Lord; all the good things I have come from you." How excellent are the LORD'S faithful people! My greatest pleasure is to be with them. Those who rush to other gods bring many troubles on themselves. I will not take part in their sacrifices; I will not worship their gods. You, LORD, are all I have, and you give me all I need; my future is in your hands. How wonderful are your gifts to me; how good they are! I praise the LORD, because he guides me, and in the night my conscience warns me. I am always aware of the LORD'S presence; he is near, and nothing can shake me.
1 Corinthians (1:4-9) I always give thanks to my God for you because of the grace he has given you through Christ Jesus. For in union with Christ you have become rich in all things, including all speech and all knowledge. The message about Christ has become so firmly established in you that you have not failed to receive a single blessing, as you wait for our LORD Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be faultless on the Day of our LORD Jesus Christ. God is to be trusted, the God who called you to have fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ, our LORD.
Proverbs (24:5-6) Being wise is better than being strong; yes, knowledge is more important than strength. After all, you must make careful plans before you fight a battle, and the more good advice you get, the more likely you are to win.
Acts (2: 25-28) "I saw the Lord before me at all times; he is near me, and I will not be troubled. And so I am filled with gladness, and my words are full of joy. And I, mortal though I am, will rest assured in hope, because you will not abandon me in the world of the dead; you will not allow your faithful servant to rot in the grave. You have shown me the paths that lead to life, and you presence will fill me with joy."
Revelations (21:1-4) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth disappeared, and the sea vanished. And I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared and ready, like a bride dressed to meet her husband. I heard a loud voice speaking from the throne: "Now God's home is with mankind! He will live with them, and they shall be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God. He will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain. The old things have disappeared."
