Ken White, 18 years old, is a senior at Nottingham High School. He first started learning percussion in the fourth grade at Meachem Elementary school under the instruction of William Kribs. From there, he began taking private lessons in the sixth grade from the great Ron Keck and continues to learn from him to this day.
Since the eigth grade Ken has gained significant performance experience. He now performs with the Syracuse Parks & Rec All-Star Band, the Syracuse Symphony Youth Orchestra, and of course, the Groove Merchants. he was also selected for all the All-City Band, the All-County Orchestra, and the All-County Jazz Ensemble. He also participated in the NAACP ACT-SO National Competition where he placed fourth in his category of Instrumental Contemporary.
Ken has since dedicated his life to laying the groove in the pocket! He's become fluant in its many languages and styles. These include everything from samba to funk to swing. He's also well versed on the congas and a vast array of auxiliary percussion.
