NIGHT 30
CLAN COUNCIL
Johnny Host: All right. Voting's over, time to count the votes.
*Johnny leaves to collect the votes as the six remaining survivors await their fate anxiously and the three-member jury looks on. Johnny returns.*
Johnny Host: Okay, let's do this. First vote... Shadow. Next vote, Shadow. Gau. Sabin. Ultros. Gau. Gau. Gau. Shadow. Gau. Gau. Shadow. Gau. That's four votes for Shadow, seven for Gau, and one each for Sabin and Ultros.
*Camera shots show Sabin looking surprised at the lack of votes for him, Gau looking surprised at the abundance of votes for him, and Shadow looking... as though he has a mask over his face. Which he does.*
Johnny Host: Next vote... Gau. Last vote..... Gau.
Gau: Ahhh!
Johnny Host: Gau, you need to bring me your torch.
*Gau reluctantly brings him the torch... but not before ripping the Can't Get Kicked Off Talisman from Mog's neck and throwing it into the woods and laughing.*
Mog: HEY!
Johnny Host: (angrily) Grrr... Darn it Gau...
*Johnny snuffs out Gau's torch and shoos him away. Gau takes the walk of shame.*
Johnny Host: Okay guys... Head back to camp and I'll see you in a few days... Dang it...
*Johnny runs off into the woods after the talisman, leaving the five remaining survivors behind, blinking at the events that have transpired. Eventually they get up and leave.*
GAU'S FINAL WORDS
Gau: Me no win. Me sad about that. But me do good. Me have fun, make money that be shiny, shiny, shiny!!! Buy treasure, kill monsters, get new Rages! Okay, me go now. Bye bye!
DAY 31
REBORAN
Shadow (to camera): I don't know what was more surprising, seeing my name come up so many times, or seeing Gau get kicked off rather than Sabin. This council told me one thing, though; I MUST win the next immunity. It is time for my ninja training to take over. I've gotten this far by staying out of the way, flying under the radar, but now I need to take charge. If I hope to win this whole thing, that is.
Locke (to camera): My victory is coming. Gau was the only one left that was kind of annoying to the rest of the clan... okay, I guess you could count Ultros too. But I'm used to that by now. Actually, I think out of the three of us left from the original Reboda, I have the best chance of going all the way. But even if I don't, I think Terra would be proud of me for making it this far.
Mog (to camera): So the second little brat got his last laughs in before he left us, kupo. That's fine, let him have that. All I have to do is win immunity again, kupo! And then just make it to the final vote. I know I can do this, kupo.
Ultros (to camera): I'm only a stone's throw away from the final four! Or should that be, an octopus's swim? UWEE HEE HEE HEE!
Sabin (to camera): Wow. Just, wow. I can't believe how this whole game has gone. I started off confident, cocky, and that wasn't working for me, I almost got voted off. Then I became almost too timid worrying about that, and I almost got voted off. Then I started toning it down some... and I almost got voted off. And last night, when I was certain I'd get voted off... I got one vote. I can't predict how this is going to end. I'd still love to win, of course, but all this uncertainty is taking away from the sweetness of any victory I might have.
Sabin: The board's messing with me.
Locke: Ah, don't worry about it. You're never going to be able to please everyone.
Ultros: He's right! I've got people who want me to win, and then I've got people who want to rip off my tentacles and beat me with them...
Shadow: You should be happy to still be here. I had four votes against me, and I'm not stressing.
Mog: Even being immune, you have to watch everything you say, kupo.
Sabin: Yeah, that's easy for you to say. I haven't even been immune yet.
Shadow: Neither have I.
Locke: Me neither. It's not that big a deal. I mean, you saw Gau, he won immunity three times and the voters only resented him for it and got rid of him the first chance they got.
Sabin: Of course I was paying attention to that... it's the only reason why I'm still here.
Ultros: Well just enjoy every minute of this adventure! It could end at any time!
Sabin: Yeah, you guys are right. Thanks for cheering me up, guys.
Mog: No problem, kupo.
Locke: Whatever happens out here, we're a family now.
Ultros: Even me?
Locke: Of course.
Sabin: (smiling good-naturedly) Yeah, the genetically altered little brother.
Ultros: Awww...
Locke (to camera): Things are going pretty well out here. I'm everyone's friend, and that's a good place to be. My only concern now is making it to the final two. If and when I get there, hopefully people will like me enough for me to win the game.
Sabin (to camera): Locke is clever. I've seen it for a long time. But I'm not sure whether he's playing people so they'll like him, or if he genuinely wants to be their friend. It's hard to tell.
Ultros (to camera): Locke has always been kind to me, and I appreciate that. But when it comes to immunity challenges, I'm showing no mercy if I get a chance! UWEE HEE HEE HEE!
Shadow (to camera): Locke's friendliness doesn't mean much to me. Friends are a liability, as far as I'm concerned. If I do get voted out before the last two, and I'm on the jury, my vote will probably go to the person who's played the game the best - not the person everybody else liked the most.
Mog (to camera): I've never been too open to advances of the other clan, and that includes Locke, kupo. Okay, to tell the truth, I never really cared much for our clan either, except for that big puffball Umaro, since he did what I said, kupo. I'll win this thing for myself, not for someone else. And I'll have a good time doing it, kupo!
DAY 32
REBORAN
Sabin (to camera): I assume the immunity challenge is gonna be today. I need to win this one. Gau getting voted off gave me a reprieve, yes, but it probably won't last. If I've had a win coming to me at any time... I hope it's this one that I win.
Mog (to camera): The next challenge should be mine, kupo. Time to start a winning streak that I'll ride all the way to the final two!
Shadow (to camera): The person who wins today's immunity challenge gets a guaranteed spot in the final four. Not to mention, it'll become that much easier to win the next one with fewer opponents. If I win today and make it at least to the last four, I'll consider this game worthwhile. But for it to really be successful, I want to win the whole thing.
Ultros (to camera): I don't know who's in the most danger at Clan Council tomorrow, but I'm sure not going to take any chances! I need to give this challenge my all! And fight dirty if I have to! UWEE HEE HEE HEE!!!
Locke (to camera): I haven't had that many votes up until now, but as Gau showed us, that could change anytime. Part of this game, as much as it frustrates Sabin and all of us, is the uncertainty of who the board's going to single out next. Either way, though, an immunity victory would taste pretty sweet right now.....
Ultros: Today's immunity is pretty important, eh?
Sabin: For me more than most, I think.
Locke: Well, we're all in trouble when there's only five of us. But we're not even certain if the challenge is going to be today.
*Mog approaches.*
Mog: Tree-mail, kupo.
Locke: So much for that...
Mog: "This challenge will be a blast
From what you know as immunity past.
Get yourself the highest score,
And you've got a place in the Final Four."
Shadow: Sounds complicated.
Ultros: They're pullin' out all the stops on us now!
IMMUNITY CHALLENGE
*The last five survivors - Sabin, Ultros, Shadow, Mog, and Locke - arrive in a clearing in the woods, where Johnny Host is, once again, waiting for them.*
Johnny Host: Welcome to your immunity challenge, guys. Here's the way this one will work. It's actually composed of seven challenges, each of which have elements from challenges you've seen before.
*The survivors react appropriately, with Ultros and Mog smiling inwardly since they've won challenges before. Johnny goes on.*
Johnny Host: Win one of the challenges and you get a point. The one of you with the most points wins immunity. If there's a tie at the end, we have a tiebreaking challenge ready. Now, the first challenge is from the slingshot challenge. The difference is, you each have two plates, and there's no taking turns - shoot as many as you can, and the person with the last plate up wins. Number two is a cargo net climb - first one to the top wins. The third challenge will be a blindfolded race with obstacles. The fourth will be a boomerang throw, but you only get one. The fifth is a tug-of-war - first you'll randomly draw to see who gets a bye in the first and then the second round. The sixth is a rope race like your last one, where you'll be attached to a rope and have to weave your way through to the end. And finally, we'll head down to the beach for our seventh and final challenge, a swimming course.
Ultros: YES! Finally!
Johnny Host: All right, let's get started.
*The contestants pick up their slingshots for the first challenge.*
Johnny Host: Survivors ready? GO!
*Shadow and Ultros quickly eliminate Sabin, because they know that if he wins immunity they'll be in more trouble. Locke takes out a plate each of Mog and Shadow, then is eliminated by the two of them as Ultros takes down Shadow's plate. Shadow smashes both Ultros's plates quickly and Mog gets Shadow. Mog wins.*
Johnny Host: Okay, that's one point for Mog.
*In the next challenge, the cargo net climb, Locke takes an early lead but Sabin catches up and eventually overtakes him and gets to the top first.*
Johnny Host: One each for Sabin and Mog.
*The third challenge, the blindfolded race, takes a while longer. After Sabin bumps into a tree, it appears as though Ultros might take it, but it's ultimately Shadow who crosses the finish line first since he's used to have a mask on.*
Johnny Host: Sabin, Shadow, and Mog each have one, Locke and Ultros have zero.
*During the fourth challenge, the boomerang throw, Ultros once against demonstrates his proficiency by throwing closest to the target, finally securing himself a point with three points still up for grabs.*
Johnny Host: Everyone has a point but Locke now.
*In the fifth challenge, the tug-of-war, Sabin sits out of the first round while Shadow beats Mog and Ultros beats Locke (eight limbs are helpful in pulling). Shadow sits out next while Sabin defeats Ultros. Finally Sabin triumphs over Shadow.*
Johnny Host: Sabin's ahead with two points!
*In the sixth challenge, the rope race, Mog uses his size to his advantage once again, and pulls off a victory.*
Johnny Host: Okay, Sabin and Mog have two, Ultros and Shadow have one. Locke, since you have zero, you can't win... you'll be sitting out on the swimming challenge.
*Locke sighs as the group travels to the beach and gets into the water to race along the marked course.*
Johnny Host: GO!
*Ultros pulls into an easy lead, which he naturally maintains throughout the race. He easily beats Shadow, Sabin, and Mog.*
Johnny Host: All right, after seven challenges, we have a three-way tie between Mog, Sabin, and Ultros. Shadow, you're out.
*Shadow sits down and Johnny explains the tie-breaking challenge.*
Johnny Host: All right, you three. The challenges up until now have involved physical strength, so this one will involve mental strength.
Sabin: Uh oh.
Johnny Host: We have three identical sliding puzzles for you to do. Your goal is to slide the pieces around to show the picture of the Survival 2 logo.
*The three puzzles magically appear with a "poof" noise.*
Mog: Wonder how much of the Survival 2 budget was spent on that, kupo...
Johnny Host: Survivors ready? GO!
*The three try their puzzles, but in the world of mental dexterity, moogles are king. Mog is the first to finish his puzzle and Sabin and Ultros are left in the dust.*
Johnny Host: Mog wins!
Mog: Kupo...po!!!
*Johnny slips the slightly dirty and mangled Can't Get Kicked Off Talisman around Mog's neck.*
Johnny Host: Get back to camp, guys. I'll see you at Clan Council tomorrow night.
Mog (to camera): Oh yeah!!! Two in a row, kupo! This is one moogle who's headed to the final four!
Sabin (to camera): ARGGGH! The win was so close I could taste it, and the moogle beat me again! I really, really needed that one!
Ultros (to camera): Bum deal! I was really close to winning that one! But at least I got to show that I can kick butt at a swimming challenge! UWEE HEE HEE HEE!
Locke (to camera): Man, I don't know what happened out there today. It's just like everyone else was suddenly competing at a much higher level than before.
Shadow (to camera): Pity about the challenge. Now I'm in danger of being voted off...
DAY 33
REBORAN
Sabin (to camera): *sigh* Council day again. And I'm running out of people who could possibly go in front of me. I don't want my game to end here! I want to keep going...
Locke (to camera): Sabin acts as if he's the only one who wants to keep going. Well, he's not. I want to win this one too, maybe even more than he does.
Shadow (to camera): Why is it that I want to win? I don't know. I just do. Isn't that good enough?
Ultros (to camera): I gotta win this thing! I want that cash! I need it! Gotta be free! Not to mention, beat these losers! That's easy to say, but it's hard to beat them! I've gotta win the next one! But first, I have to get through tonight's council...
Mog (to camera): This is the best position in the world, kupo. Everyone must be really mad that I've won two in a row, but you know what? I don't care, kupo. I'm guaranteed final four, and with any luck I'll win the whole game. What a delight, kupo!!
Sabin (to camera): Today went by so quickly. Sure, we were sitting around talking like usual, and occasionally seeing if we could find some food, yeah... but before I knew it, it's time for Clan Council. Time for me to get the big boot... Well, maybe not. Anything could happen, except for Mog getting voted off.
Shadow (to camera): There are only a few more days left in the game now. It would be awful to get this far and then lose now. But, it's going to happen to somebody tonight, and there's nothing that can be done about that...
Locke (to camera): Do I know who's going down tonight? No. Do I think I'm in a relatively safe position? I suppose. But whoever goes tonight, I'm going to hate to see them go. I've been saying it for a while: We are a family.
NIGHT 33
CLAN COUNCIL
*The last five survivors come in to the next-to-last episode's Clan Council, where one of them will be saying goodbye. The ever-faithful Johnny Host greets them.*
Johnny Host: Welcome, guys. Let's bring in our jury...
*Strago, Relm, Celes, and Gau come in and sit down - at least, they think it's Gau. The wild boy is actually groomed and wearing clean clothes. It boggles the minds of the survivors, who each do a double take as they scan the jury. Celes winks at Locke, who swoons once again.*
Johnny Host: Once again, Mog is immune at tonight's council and is thus guaranteed a spot in the final four. How does that make you feel, Sabin?
Sabin: Well, I'd obviously much rather it be me... but, Mog beat me fair and square, I congratulate him and I'm happy for him. I'm worried about myself, though.
Johnny Host: How did it feel, thinking you were gone last week and instead seeing only one paper with your name on it?
Sabin: Oh, it was the best feeling in the world. It was the best surprise ever. But of course, the dread returns tonight. I'd like nothing more than to be surprised again like I was last time.
Johnny Host: And I'm sure your fellow castaways are hoping that doesn't happen so they'll be safe.
Sabin: I couldn't blame 'em for it. They're here to win, just like I am.
Johnny Host: Shadow, how do you like your chances tonight?
Shadow: I think they're about as good or as bad as Sabin's depending on how you look at it. It was Gau at the last council, but it was almost me.
Johnny Host: Ultros, what about you?
Ultros: Like I've said before, you never know! I hope to make it all the way, but there are five of us and there's only gonna be one survivor!
Johnny Host: That's very true. Now, let me tell you what's in store for the four of you who make it past tonight. There will be two immunity challenges, and three clan councils, the last of which will involve the board and our jury and will determine who will be the ultimate survivor. But I'm afraid there's only room for four of you there. One of you needs to go now. It's time to vote.
Voice of Johnny Host: Who won't be making it into the Final Four? Find out next time, on Survival 2: The Final Fantasy III Outback!
