- The
Turning Point, located on the banks of the lovely Hudson River in
the town of Piermont, N.Y.,is
one of the most interesting places to see NRBQ. My usual plan is
to try and get into town a bit
early so that I can get a delicious dinner at the restaurant upstairs.
The 'Q' plays two shows at this
venue and always give the audience the extra bang for the buck.
I recommend if you go that you
be sure to order your tickets in advance! This club only seats 69
on a good night. With Terry's piano
it's even less.
- This
past show on 3/28/98 was another fun time. The thing that is so
cool is each time I go to this club I meet
someone new or run into someone I haven't seen in a while so the
whole thing ends up
- turning
into a gab fest situated around seeing the 'Q'. This night was no
different. I love that the
band taps into the looseness of the environment and plays to it.
- Both
shows were musically sound. From the first notes of "C'mon If You're
Comin'" and "I Feel
Lucky" to the beautiful "Little Floater" and the nutty "Is That
Good Religion?", the band was
hot and ready to please. Personally, I liked the second show better.
I wonder if the constant rounds
that were being bought at my table had anything to do with it. .
.hmmmm:-)
