This section will be the most
frequently updated as it is basically a log of everything I do
and have done with my car. This section of the site is presented
in chronological order, with the origin of the car being first
and my current project being last.
All of the newest updates will
have links at the start of this page, so you can jump to what's
new. Since it is all new right now, there are no such
links.

Page 1- Engine cleaning, gasket treatment, dirty work.
I am still awaiting my Ghia's
birth certificate, but as soon as I get it it's going here.
This section details the origin
of my obsession, finding the car, test-driving and the ride home,
and the story of the car since it left the California dealership
in 1961. This area includes:
- Scans of the old CA auto permit
- A pic of my first time behind the wheel of a vw (not driving,
just sitting)
- My high school newspaper spread of the New Beetle I designed
while in the heat of my beetle obsession. (Pre-Ghia)
- E-Mail correspondence pre-purchase. (Should I buy it?)
This area allows all a peek at
my "mobile testing lab" of an audio system. How can
I get a (pseudo-)pumpin' system into a 6v car with no possibility
for in-dash mount?! Well, click on to see and read how. (Would
it surprise you if I said that there are solar panels involved?)
When I bought the car, the thing
was in "running" condition, but barely running. About
two weeks after the purchase, I had to go off to work at a summer
camp for six weeks. Well, my parents did me the favor of bringing
it in for a tuneup. The tuneup ended up costing about $3500 and
I think my parents were taken for a ride. You can take a peek
at my explanation and the receipts yourself. Does anyone have
the number for the Better Business Bureau?
