Why Public Health?

Through my studies at Appalachian and through some tv watching (yes I said tv watching), this spectacular thing called Public Health caught my eye. The majority of tv I watch is related to health and more and more I started watching these shows on medical investigations and disease investigations on Discovery Health. True stuff. Not to mention rewatching the movie "Outbreak". But yeah, public health became more and more interesting to me until I said to myself - "This is what I wanna do". My desire is to be a communicable/infectious disease applied epidemiologist in a State Health Department or the CDC in the National Center for Infectious Disease. I like piecing together pieces of a puzzle and determining things from those little pieces. That's what an epidemiologist is - a disease detective. I think it'll be a cool and fun job. But to get to that point I have to go to school first.
I just started classes at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health in August. So far so good!

Keep moving, one way <<<<< or the other >>>>>
