For nearly three decades, Buck Owens was a steady fixture on country music's Top-40 charts.
He generated more than 80 singles throughout his career and consequently, earned a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
However, as with most artist of his era, Buck's music has since been shelved for today's younger country singers.
This is the ultimate insult to an artist who made enormous contributions to the genre.
Not only was he an outstanding singer, he was an excellent writer and musician. Buck wrote many of his big hits and massive songs for his associates. He did session work with Wanda Jackson, Sonny James and Faron Young, before landing a job as co-host of the highly popular Hee Haw TV show.
Buck is one of a few artist who stood up to the industry leaders and refused to give up rights to his recordings. That was a very wise move on his part and now he is sitting on a gold mine. In association with Rhino Records, Buck released a 3-CD box set containing virtually every one of his Top-10 single from 1959 through 1989. Entitled The Buck Owens Collection, this box set will soothe your craving for Buck Owens music.
