Commentary:

One of Mulligan's finest. He uses the expanded rhythm section to full advantage; exploring harmonic possibilities the pianoless quartet never warranted him. The arrangement of Australian folk song "Waltzing Mathilda" is at once beautiful and startling - not often does an album go from ballad to jazz-funk in a matter of minutes. Jazzspeak (16 minutes of Mulligan's comments on the music) is insightful and noteworthy, as well.
