Madeleine, the dollmaker. Madeleine, the mad.. My story really was of no importance in the whole scheme. Years in exile, years of being completely alone. I was just the dollmaker, the dollmaker led astray by an angel with golden curls... Claudia. How could I ever bear ill will to that statue of a child with the heart of marble. We shall always have Paris. And my dearest father, dearest Louis.. who was forced to make me. And even Lestat, the man of the hour, the Brat Prince himself, who called for the death of both Claudia and I, and then in a moment of weakness, we were spared. Then, safe within the walls of l'Hotel St.Gabriel, safe within the walls of my perfect fantasy, I killed. Wanton and violent, I killed. Wanton and violent, I burned the last shards of my painful mortal life. That tomb where I kept my doll shop, filled with the porcelain effigies of Nathalie, my daughter..the dark-haired beauty that left me so young. I burned the dollshop, without regret.
