1998 new artiste of the year Grace Yip (or Ye Pei Wen) has released her second full-length eleven-track album.  For info, she began her music career after she was hand-picked by Japanese musician Tetsuya Komuro from thousands of talents in 1998.  She also appeared in last year's action movie "Gen-X Cops" alongside Nicholas Tse, Stephen Fung and Daniel Wu.

The first single "Boom Ba La" is a light-tempo dance song which has been climbing up the Hong Kong radio charts.

The limited-edition album CD comes bundled with a bonus wallet card-size CD which contains a hotter remix of "Boom Ba La".

Veteran artiste Alan Tam has released his new album which is produced by, among others, Ye Guang Quan, Fang Shu Liang and Eddie Ng (or Wu Guo Jing).

The title track "Choose Angle" is a light-tempo karaoke-friendly song which has a feel of world-music arrangement.

He did quite a number of cover versions here.  There are two separate takes on hits by Phil Chang (or Zhang Yi) : the song "Still Here" is the cover of Phil's very first hit song "Walking With The Wind" (or Zou Lu You Feng) while "One Thousand Memories" is the cover of Phil's recent hit "Love A Flower" (or Dan Lian Yi Zhi Hua).  He also did a cover of You Hong Ming's first hit "Love Someone" (or Lian Shang Yi Ge Ren).  Finally, there's a Cantonese version of Michael Learns To Rock's "Someday" which is called "Appointment With You".

TVB and movie actor Louis Koo (or Gu Tian Le) has come out with his debut music work in the form of an EP.  The interesting thing is that he wasn't even aware that the EP has already been released on 28 Jan 2000 until he was asked to sign his autograph on it by a fan.  Apparently his record company has pushed forward the release date without his knowledge.

There are a total of six tracks, among which half of them belong to TVB serials' theme-songs (in which he acted in).  They include "Innocence" which is the supporting theme-song for the TVB millennium serial "At The Threshold Of An Era" (or Chuang Shi Ji); "Go Together" which is the supporting theme-song for the pet serial "Man's Best Friend" (or Chong Wu Qing Yuan) co-starring Sammi Cheng; and "Infinite Universe" which is the supporting theme-song for the serial "Detective Investigation Files IV".  The latter track "Infinite Universe" is a duet number sung together with Edmond Leung (or Liang Han Wen).

Originally scheduled for release at the end of last year, Gigi Leung's (or Liang Yong Qi) new album was delayed until this month Jan 2000 due to the generally negative public reception surrounding her love-affair with Ekin Cheng back then.

However it seems that the record company's fear of a backlash may be laid to rest now as evidenced by the encouraging performance of this new release.  Not only has it debuted the Hong Kong IFPI album chart at number five, the title track "Good Time" which is a retro-sounding jazz piece has also topped a few song charts in Hong Kong.

The new ten-track release from Amanda Lee (or Li Hui Min).  

The title track "Fly With You" is a duet sung with Hong Kong comedy actor/TV host Chen Bai Xiang.  Just like Hacken Lee's latest hit "Cherry Blossom" (found in his "One Year Or More" album), "Fly With You" has run into copyright trouble in that lyricist Lin Min Cong said the song copied his unpublished lyrics and song title that he has submitted to Universal Music (note : "Fly With You" is written by female lyricist Li Min).

The album also contains the main theme-song "Thinking Of Love But No Love" for the TVB hit serial "A Loving Spirit" (or Quan Yan Man Zuo) starring Lawrence Ng and Guan Yong He.
