This is an individual scratch bowling tournament, open to all YABA bowlers. Non-YABA bowlers may bowl by paying a Participation fee of $2.00 (us). This makes you eligible for scholarships but not YABA awards.
This tournament will be YABA sanctioned. YABA rules will be observed. YABA cards must be shown.
Proper bowling attire must be worn. Shirts must have collars. NO jeans of any type.
This is a singles tournament and will be scored on a scratch basis.
There will be 2 (two) Divisions, Girls and Boys.
The number of entries is limited to 96 (48 per squad).
Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis to fill the field. Local bowlers may be asked to change squads to balance out squads. You will be notified in advance of any changes.
Tournament cost is $65.00. All award fees returned 100%. Full field results in a prize fund of appox. $3360. In addition, we are actively pursuing additional sponsorships resulting in a larger prize fund. Awards will be proportional boys – girls based on number of entries. Prize ratio 1 in 10. Entries close April 10,2004 @ 8:30am.
A 300 game award will be split if more then one 300 is thrown during the tournament. Friday’s sweepers will not be included for this award.
Check in time. A-Squad – 2:30 to 3:15 PM. B-Squad – 07:30 to 08:15 am
There will be a 15-minute practice session before each block.
Each squad shall bowl 6 games across 12 lanes. After both squads have bowled, a minimum of 50% boys and girls will advance to a second 8 game block, which will commence at 3:30 PM Saturday. A minimum of 50% boys and girls after the 14th game (total score 1st block and 2nd block) will advance to the third round, which will commence at 9:00am Sunday morning. The third block will consist of another 10 games. The top 5 boys and 4 girls (after 24 games scratch total) will then bowl a stepladder final to determine the winner.
Re-Entries will be accepted before the B-Squad takes place, providing that spots are available. This will come on a first come, first served basis and you must have not been guaranteed a spot to the next block. These entries will be taken on Saturday morning at 8:00am only. If you re-enter, your scores from the A-Squad will be removed.
Lanes will be assigned by the tournament director for each block.
In case of a tie for the last position to advance in each block, a 9th and 10th frame rolloff will be used.
Although there will not be an official weigh in for balls, all equipment is subject to inspection and if found to be illegal, the bowler will be disqualified.
The decision of the tournament director shall be final unless an appeal is made in accordance with Rule 705.
Friday sweepers, All monies will be paid in the form of scholarships with 1 in 10 cashing.
All Scholarship monies go to the YABA SMART program and are under the account # of 8897.
