VARGAS TAKES OUT THE RUBBISH CALLED THOMPSON

Reported by: Patrick Ryan

This showdown between Ferocious Fernando Vargas and Ross Thompson ended with with a stoppage in round 4 with the three knockdown rule in effect.

All I can say is that Vargas was too good.  He knocked the bugger down at the press conference after Thompson came in the swinging now he knocked him down in the ring.  Vargas entered the ring with Tyson and Zab Judah by his side and was determined to knock Thompson out so he can get a chance to show the world he is the best boxer pound 4 pound by stepping into the ring with the great almighty Felix Trinidad.

It is nearly a definate fight between these two current pound 4 pound champs and is scheduled on the 2nd or 9th December this year.  It is Vargas' chance more than Trinidad's to show off to the world.  Trinidad has fought the best and beaten all with a perfect record of no losses, Vargas on the other hand has not fought as many battles with the best.  Trinidad has beaten the likes of Oscar Dela Hoya, David Reid and Pernell Whitaker all by a 12 round decision.  Vargas' only oppenent which really surprised was Ike Quartey, the man who gave Oscar Dela Hoya a lot of trouble, beating Trinidad would be has cream of the crop.
