NetFront 3.3 with any wap gprs connection
by Alberto BilheteriaThis trick is needed only if your network provides you a connection through a proxy server
-Download this file:101f53e2.ini
-Open it using System Explorer's hex editor.
-Press Options-Go to position, write 961 and press OK.You'll be right in front of proxy address netfront will use. It's currently set to 000.000.000.000 .
-To put a proxy here, just enter the numbers you want, always putting 3 before the number. If you want to enter a 4,write 34.
To enter 6,type 36 and so on.Basically,to write a number you just need to write a 3 before it.Take a look at this table:
30 - 0
31 - 1
32 - 2
33 - 3
34 - 4
35 - 5
36 - 6
37 - 7
38 - 8
39 - 9
2F - period (.)
If your network's proxy address is 193.9.20.93 ,you have to write it this way in the hex editor:
31 39 33 2F 30 30 39 2F 30 32 30 2F 30 39 33
Note you don't have to change 2F.Let it alone. Also, any proxy you enter must have 12 numbers:the proxy 193.2.9.34 should be entered as 193.002.009.034
Setting your network's proxy port
-Press Options-Go to position. In go to position, write 1340,and press OK.You will see 12 34 in the current line and right below,12 34 again. The first is the proxy port for normal connections, and the next is for https.
In order to be able to enter a port, first you need to convert it to hexa decimal.
Note 1: If the hex value you found above has less than 4 numbers, put as many zeros as needed in front of this number to always have a 4 digits value:if the hex value for your network's proxy port is A96,use 0A96;if it's 8,use 0008.
Note 2: Don't use Opera for Symbian to fill in the form above, cause it MAY give you wrong hex values for some ports.Use NetFront or some other browser instead
-Put the 2 last numbers of the hex value you found in front of the 2 first. For example,if the port you want to use is 9201,converting it to hex decimal, you get 23F1 .Putting the 2 last numbers(F1) in front of the first ones(23),you will have the swapped value F123.The only thing you have to do now is replacing both 1234's with the swapped value you've just found.
To make it easy,Alberto Bilheteria brings to you some common ports and its hex values already swapped. If the port used by your operator is listed below, you just have to take a note of the swapped hex-value and replace both
12 34's with it:
Port 8080 - 901F
Port 9201 - F123
Port 9204 - F423
Port 8799 - 5F22
Port 8000 - 401F
Port 80 - 5000
-Press Options-Save to save your changes.
-Finally,rename the file you've just edited to and copy it to C:\system\Shareddata\
Overwrite the current one,if it exists.
After this, you'll be able to use NetFront 3.3 with any wap gprs connection.
