Method 2:
Renaming folder trick

Steps:
For security reasons, start by opening Memory Application and create a backup of your phone's memory on Memory Card. This way, you won't risk to lose your data if you make some mistake

Memory application
-With AppMan by symbianware you can view the files that are currently in use by your phone

AppMan v1.04 initial view
-If you don't have AppMan installed in your phone, don't worry cause it's not really needed. But if you have it, open the application and press right 3 times on the Joystick/D-pad to see the tab that shows what files are being used

Open files tab
-Some files can be viewed but not edited, and some files can't even be viewed. It varies from phone to phone, but in both cases, you'll get a error message when trying to perform the desired action with a file that's in use.Let's suppose the file you want to edit is Cdbv3.dat

Cdbv3.dat tried to be open in a Nokia6600
-Highlight the folder(not the subfolder) where the file is inside

Folder where Cdbv3.dat is located
-Rename this folder to anything else than its original name. The fastest way is adding just one letter to the folder's name

Folder Data renamed to Dataa
-After renaming the folder, you can edit all the files inside it.

Cdbv3.dat open
-When you have finished, make sure you won't forget to rename the folder back to its original name

Note about Data folder:
If the phone tries to save some file to the folder Data after you have renamed it, a new folder called data will be created, and this time, it can't be renamed, but just deleted.

Be careful not to let the phone restarts while data folder is there.
If it happens, the folder can't be renamed or deleted anymore. The same applies if you rename the default folder Data to data.In order to be able to rename the folder again you'll have to format the phone.Turn it on, holding the keys green, * and 3.After formatting, the folder will have its name changed to Data, so that it can be renamed again, even after you have restored the backup that was created at the beginning
