-Download to your phone some Sound Bank fille, whose format is audio/x-beatnik-rmf.You can find such files through the internet. For example, at Sun Microsystems official web site
-Using some file explorer, create a folder called Beatnik either at C:\System\Data\ (to store the Sound Bank in phone's memory) or at E:\System\Data\ (to store the Sound Bank in memory card)
-Move the Sound Bank file to the folder >Beatnik
-As the final step, rename the Sound Bank ffile to npatches.hsb

After you have performed these steps, try to play a mid file. The device will then load and use the new sound bank located at !:\System\Data\Beatnik\ to play the mid file. The playback will take more time than usual to start, cause the new sound bank has to be loaded from C or E drive each time you try to play a mid file, and both drives aren't as fast as Z (ROM).It's even worse if the sound bank is too large (more than 1 Mega Bytes long, for example).Storing the sound bank at phone's memory makes the playback starts faster than if it's stored at the memory card.
The greater is the sound bank file, the more will be the amount of RAM required while the mid file is being played. After the playback is finished, your phone will have its normal free RAM again
To disable the sound bank you downloaded (thus making the phone uses the original sound bank again) simply rename the file npatches.hsb to anything else.To activate it anytime, rename it back to npatches.hsb

*The technique was tested by Alberto Bilheteria in a Nokia 6600, and should work with other Symbian OS 6 and 7 phones, such as N-Gage or Nokia 7610
