I Only Do This For You
Chapter 1
I dreaded my parent’s reaction as I sat in the living room
“Mum, dad I have something to tell you?” I said the palms of my hands began to sweat
“What love?” my mum asked in a gentle tone
“I…I…I’m pregnant” I spluttered
“Get Out” my dad said becoming cross
“I’m sorry” I wept but he didn’t seem to care my mum tried reasoning with him but he didn’t want to listen.
He grabbed me by the arm and threw me out of the front door moments later he returned with a bag full of clothes
“Don’t ever come back you’re a disgrace to this family” he spat I could hear my mum crying and begging him not to do this but he just slammed
the door.
Tears ran down my cheeks as I slowly got up I picked the bag up and walked the streets I had no money and I was starving it was getting dark
and I became scared as I searched for a place to sleep and stay safe then I remembered the bench in the park no-one knew it was there because
brambles and bushes had grew around it hiding its existence I made my way through the park and over to where the bench was I struggled
through the bushes with the bag but eventually made it to the middle.
I put the bag on the bench and looked through it my dressing gown had been stuffed in there it was the biggest thing along with the coat I was
wearing to keep me warm during the night, I put the bag up one end of the bench and led down on it using the bag as a pillow I spread the
dressing gown out for a blanket the bench was cold and hard a lot different from my nice warm bed back home I sighed I'd never have that comfort
again I used my imagination to make my body think it was comfortable.
The next thing I knew I was waking up to the sounds of the birds chirping it must have been early morning I stood up and stretched myself out
and got changed before coming out of the bushes leaving my bag behind I zipped up my coat and breathed in the cold morning air and walked
off into the streets.
I came across a junk yard on my travels I walked in and looked around it then I saw something blue flapping in the wind it was a huge plastic
sheet I took it folded it as small as I could get it and shoved it under my coat before running back to my new home this would be good for
when it rained it would keep me dry I thought as I threw it over the bench I got hold of a branch that had been laying not far from the
bench and propped it up in a way so I'd have more head room I got a few rocks and put them around the sides and corners of the huge plastic sheet
to stop the wind from getting in and blowing it away.
I came back out from under the plastic sheet and out of the bushes I began
to walk the streets again wondering if I'd find anything else to help me I found a 50p on the floor I looked around to make sure no-one saw me
pick it up at least this would buy me something to eat I decided I wouldn’t spend it straight away I'd wait until I got desperate I shoved
it in my pocket, and felt something else there I pulled it out , it was a key, my house key.
