A "Dream" Came True My entire life I’ve heard and said plenty of times that when you lose a love there’s nothing better than find another one to heal old wounds, I always broke up with my girlfriends using that line and worked really well but when my last girlfriend said that to me it didn’t make me really happy. I began to think that something was wrong with me ‘cause ‘till that day no girl ever dumped me before. For the first time I was in all those girls shoes wanting to disappear, lucky me having friends who cared for me and decided to take me to Cape Town to forget about the “contract” I forced singed where my ex entered with the boots and I entered with my butt! I went to travel with my mates but like a spoiled 5 year old I let clear that I wouldn’t have fun ‘cause all I wanted was my ex-girlfriend back. We spent 2 weeks in Cape Town going to clubs, parties, spending days at the beach and interacting with girls. Well, the last part I didn’t participate much ‘cause my thoughts were with a certain girl in London. My mates started to get pissed with me but I didn’t change my spoiled behavior. After those weeks from hell, on our last day we went to a beach party. It was really hot that night and the beach was full of people with their hormones racing., one of my mates, found a girl and disappeared in the middle of the crowd as I stood by the fire with my other 2 matesandwatching the people dancing. _I can’t believe you spent these 2 weeks without doing a thing! –said in disbelief. _Me neither! All the girls we met were all over you and you were always thinking about the girl who dumped you. –said shaking his head. _So what?! – I answered – I told you I wouldn’t have fun and besides, I’m still in love with her. _Come on! You’re the first one to say, “there’s plenty of fish in the sea”. –said laughing. _And look at these girls! I’m just waiting for the right time to attack these fish like a shark! –said licking his lips. _Well man, this was cheesy! – I observed. _Cheesy or not I’m gonna have more fun than you, sucker! –and–started to laugh, as if I cared about that. I carried on drinking my beer, listening to the band playing and not caring much about my mates. A few minutes later, when I was fed up, I was about to leave the party when the band started to play Kevin Lyttle’s song “Turn Me On” and, in a matter of seconds, a weird thing happened. I was still watching the people dancing when I felt someone holding me from behind running her hands on my chest. I tried to turn to face the girl but she didn’t le me do that I don’t know how and whispered in my ear. _Dance with me. I didn’t have time to answer her, I just threw my shirt onand let me her guide me to the “dance floor”. As the music played the girl slowly came out behind me moving in a sexy way. She was all sweat rubbing her body against mine but every time I tried to put my hands on her she didn’t let me, I was only allowed to do that when she wanted. That was crazy! I never found myself dominated before and I was loving it! She seemed to be playing a game and believe me she was winning easily. She was wearing her hair down and it was hiding her face just letting me see her lips, which by the way looked really kissable. I really wanted to feel her lips and, as if she was reading my mind, she got down and on her way up she ran her lips on my stomach ‘till getting on my chest, at that moment she got me turned on literally. It was wild, I still wanted to leave but not alone anymore, I wanted to spend my last night in Cape Town with her but once the song ended she stopped moving, came close to me and whispered. _Thank you. She smiled, softly kissed my lips and left joining the crowd. _Hey! Come back here! I yelled and tried to follow her but she disappeared in the middle of the people. I didn’t know her name nor anything, I just knew she had a beautiful smile, the most soft lips I’ve ever tasted and I noticed she had a tattoo on her leg, the Chinese ideogram for “Dream” colored in white, blue and red. I didn’t leave the party; I looked for her all night long and didn’t find her. My mates were almost sleeping on the beach when I gave up. We went back to the hotel but we didn’t have time to sleep, we just packed our bags and in a few hours we were coming back to London. I took a girl out of my mind to put another one and that was driving me crazy ‘cause I had to get back to my routine at college and work. Everything I did had something with that girl, everywhere I went I looked for her not knowing if she lived in London or not, every time I closed my eyes I saw her and when I was sleeping there she was in my dreams. _, you need to move on. You don’t have a life anymore. -said trying to advice me. _What can I do? I’m crazy for this girl! – I tried to explain. _But you just danced with her. It was just a little dance. –tried to make my mind. _But she kisses me after we danced. – I answered. _She gave you a tiny little kiss! –said making fun of me. _I know but it was… it was… I don’t know how to explain it. My mates were laughing and making fun of me but what could I say? I didn’t know why that girl got stuck in my head. A month went by and she was still driving me crazy, so crazy that my ex-girlfriend came to talk to me wanting us to get back together, the thing I most wanted in those 2 weeks in Cape Town and I said “no”. How insane was that? Enough for me to realize that my mates were right and I needed to move on, I decided to forget about her, my “Dream”; like I used to call her. Another month went by and it was already Christmas and soon the New Year’s Eve, I was with Lee and Antony at a diner when Simon came with a huge smile on his face. _What’s up–? – I asked. _I hope you don’t have plans for New Year’s Eve. _Why? _‘Cause my cousinis gonna throw a party at his poor mansion. _You can count me in! –said quickly. _Me too! –said anxious. They looked at me waiting for a negative answer but I surprised them. _You can count me in too! I bet you thought I’d say “no”! _I guess you forgot about “Dream”. –said tapping my back. _I guess so. I didn’t get my mates. First they made fun of me for thinking about “Dream” then they made fun of me for not thinking about her anymore. Well, on New Year’s Eve I met my mates and went to’s party. The house was packed with people and the cold outside wasn’t allow in the party, everybody was dancing really close and the heat in the house reminded me of Cape Town. The night was going by and I was having a blast dancing with every girl that crossed my way. At some point I decided to take a break and went to the bar to get something to drink. I was sat there talking to a friend of mine when a girl came to the bar. _Hey bartender! Can I have a “slow screw”? Everyone at the bar looked at the girl surprised. The bartender stopped in front of the girl with a big question mark on his face. _What? Haven’t you heard about this drink before? _Sorry… – the bartender said shyly. The girl smiled and her smile seemed familiar to me, I got intrigued and carried on paying attention at her. _That’s ok… a “slow screw” is a mix of gin and orange juice. She explained smiling and the bartender smiled back at her. I had a strange feeling like I knew that girl from somewhere else. She looked at me then finally hit me when she put her hair down, that girl was “Dream”! I was pretty sure about that, I clearly remembered that beautiful smile! _Here’s your “slow screw”, mss. “Dream” looked at the bartender, thanked him and went away to talk to some girls. She hadn’t disappeared, she was there and that was my chance. I was so excited that I ran to talk to my mates. _,,! _Where’s the fire? –asked holding me by the shoulders. _I saw “Dream”, she’s here! _Here we go again with the “Dream” thing. –said shaking his head. _Weren’t you over this? –asked. _I was but I saw her, she’s here! _How do you know she’s here? –asked. I told them what happened at the bar and guess what? They started to laugh. _, are you insane? –asked. _Why? _What if she looks like the girl from Cape Town? –asked. He had a point but I was pretty sure about her smile. _Ok, I’m gonna prove to you that the girl from the bar is “Dream”. _How? –asked. _”Dream” has the Chinese ideogram of Dream colored in white, red and blue on her left leg. _Let’s go see this girl. –said still laughing. We looked around and in seconds I found her. _There she is! _And where’s the tattoo? –asked. The luck part was she was wearing a skirt the bad part was that she was wearing boots that were hiding her tattoo. _Well, you have to find a way to see the tattoo ‘cause if she’s not the girl from Cape Town, you’ll be making a mistake. –said ironically. _I wouldn’t mind making this mistake. –said laughing. I wasn’t wrong, that girl was “Dream”. All the time I watched the girl from far with my mates making fun of me. I don’t know what happened but when it was about midnight and everybody was celebrating the New Year “Get Down On It” started to play and the girl went wild and took off the boots. There was my confirmation, the white, blue, red tattoo. _Are you seeing? – I asked all excited. _Well, if she’s your “Dream” go for it! –encouraged me. I smiled and started to prepare myself to talk to her. After 3 more songs started to play Tragedie’s “Sexi Pour Moi” and there I found my chance. “Dream” was fixing her hair when I did exactly what she did to me in Cape Town. I held her from behid and softly caressed her stomach the whispered in her ear. _Dance with me. She put her hands on mine and softly laughed. _I knew you were the guy from Cape Town. Point for me! She remembered me so’s theory of her being drunk was out of the picture. “Dream” turned to face me and we started to dance. This time she let me touch her and danced sexier than in Cape Town. Feeling her that close to me was bringing me back feelings that I thought I’d forgot and once again she turned me on. When the song ended we were both sweating and holding each other real close. _Can we talk? – I asked. _Sure! We “left” the party and went to one of the rooms in the mansion. I confess that I was really nervous ‘cause I’ve always pictured the day I’d meet her but now that was real I didn’t know what to do. We got in the room and “Dream” got comfy on a chair as I stood there looking at her. After a minute of silence, I finally started to speak. _I can’t believe that I’m seeing you again. _Me neither. _I couldn’t stop thinking about you since that night in Cape Town. _Me neither. That answer was totally acceptable! It was hard to believe that “Dream” actually remembered and thought about me, it seemed like I was dreaming. _Tell me your name so I can stop calling you “Dream”. – I said sitting in front of her. _”Dream”? Hmm, that’s interesting. – she said softly laughing – My name is. Now tell me your name so I can stop calling you “ the guy from Cape Town”. _– I said laughing as well – Nice to meet you. _Nice to meet you too. Now tell me, why “Dream”? _‘Cause of your tattoo. _Oh… _Yeah, I have good eyes. _And beautiful too. She was coming on me, giving all the signs that she wanted me but I controlled myself and carried on talking ‘cause I wanted to know her before anything. _Why did you choose “Dream” to put on your leg? _‘Cause I’ve always dreamed about coming to England so, the first thing I did when I got here I realized that my dream came true I decided to tattoo the Chinese ideogram of dream with the colors of the British flag. _Interesting… where are you from? _Brazil. _And how did you get here? _An year ago I me. _’s cousin? _If he’s the owner of this house then we’re talking about the same person. Anyway, I met him in Brazil and he said that he was trying to have his own business and if he put it together he’d give me a call and would invite me to work with him. _So you work for. _That’s it. _God, it’s a small world! I mean, we’d get to know each other anyway ‘cause’s cousin,, is my best mate. ’s smile got more beautiful than before, though she had all that attitude she was really sweet and nice but I needed to know more about my “Dream”. _What were you doing in Cape Town? – she asked standing up. _My girlfriend dumped me and my friends decided to cheer me up… _That’s the reason why you had that face all night long at the party. _Did you notice my bad humor? _Since the time I got at the hotel. _Huh? _I was at the reception doing my check in when I saw you sat alone at the lobby with a terrible face. _Was I that scary? _Well, you didn’t scare me. Lenora came closer to me and put her hands on my chest and I caught myself pulling her closer to me holding her by the waist. _Why didn’t I notice? – I asked looking into her eyes. _Maybe ‘cause you were still thinking about your ex. _And where did you go after we danced at the party? _Me and my friends went to another party. _So that dance meant nothing. What was I? A bet? Someone to make another guy jealous? _Of course not! That day I thought about you all the time and when I saw you at the party I said to myself that I had to get close to you. I thought I’d see you again in Cape Town after that night but I played wrong and lost… _You didn’t loose the game. _I lost the first round but I’m winning the second one easily. smiled and our faces were really close. I gently ran my fingers through her hair then finally tasted her lips. God, what a feeling! That kiss was more than I expected! That night, and I went beyond kissing, we had an incredible night making love. All these years I never believed in relationships that started with sex on the first date but mine withis doing really well. We understand each other and she’s relaxed, we almost don’t fight. I don’t know if it’s a Brazilian thing but she doesn’t “tie” me and let me be me which’s great and to tell the truth, she can trust me with her eyes closed ‘cause the way she treats me I couldn’t wish for anyone else. Now, I’m really glad for have gone to Cape Town and not had fun at all. The End.
