Man In The Mirror


"I'm sorryI just can't trust you anymore I love you and always will but I can't stay with 
you if you can't change your ways" she said picking up her suitcases and leaving the house waling away 
out of my life for good. Another one I let slip through my fingers because I can't quit being a player. 
Then it started the tightening in my chest the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and the back of my 
throat my vision blurred as a tear trickled down my cheek why was I crying I never cried over a girl 
leaving me I thought as I looked in the mirror in the hallway I felt broken. My phone rang bringing me 
back to reality I answered it
"?" I asked hoping it was her 	
"Noit’sare you ok?" he asked 
"Yeah fine, what's want?" I asked 
"Just wondered if you'd like to come out clubbing tonight?"asked 
"Sure ok, I’m surewon't mind" I said acting as if everything was normal though it wasn't and 
neither was I but life had to carry on hadn't it?
I got ready to go out clubbing I wasn't feeling up to it but I wasn't going to letdown and 
maybe after a few drinks I’d get into the mood of it. I metdown the club he was already flirting 
with a few of the girls in there he left them and came over to me 
"ok with you coming out then?" he asked  
"Yeah she told me to go out and gave some fun" I lied tohe nodded
"Well I’m kind of busy and I’m sure you can't wait to start chatting up some pretty ladies"said 
going back to the girls he was flirting with beforehand I walked up to the bar 
"Jack Daniels straight up" I told the barman he got me my drink and I paid him before walking off and 
sitting in  quiet corner I stared at the glass thinking deeply... 
"Hey man what's up?"asked about an hour later I looked up at him in that hour I’d stared at 
the glass of Jack Daniels and let tears silently flow down my cheeks so when I looked up at him my 
eyes were red and puffy and my face soaking wetinstantly got me out of that club and took me 
back home I walked into the living room and fell onto the sofa I heardrun up the stairs and 
open my bedroom door he came down a few minutes later 
"Why didn't you tell me you andhad broken up?" he asked 
"Guess I thought if I didn't say anything then it wouldn't be a reality" I said 
"Why you think that?" he asked 
"I don't know I don't want it to be a reality I want her back I love her" I said as more tears spilled out 
and rolled down my cheeks
"Did you just say you love?"asked I nodded I finally realised what that strange feeling I 
had earlier was
"I thought you two weren't going to get serious" he asked 
"We both said that because we both knew what we were like we didn't do serious relationships but 
now I’ve fallen in love with her and I know she feels the same way but I’ve left it too late unless I 
can change myself help me changehelp me get her back I need her" I said begging on my knees 
"Ok I willbut promise me that you can do this"said 
"I swear I can do it I want her back so badly I’ll do anything" I replied
"Ok well first you get some sleep I’ll do a little thinking of how we could do this"said getting up 
and leaving I said my goodbyes to him and went upstairs to my room and went to sleep the bed was 
cold and empty withoutsleeping beside me.

My train pulled into the station I collected my luggage and stepped off onto the platform searching for 
my best friend
""I heard someone yell I turned around and say Haley running towards me 
"Heya Hun" I said hugging her 
"Hows you been?" she asked as we walked out of the train station so her car 
"I've been better" I said smiling at her 
"I can imagine I mean you've moved from London back to Bristol I mean it's not as glamorous is it?" 
she asked 
"It'll do as long as I’m surrounded by friends it'll be just as perfect" I said we pulled into's drive 
way I was staying with her I used to before I moved up to London after meeting
"Glad to be back" I said looking around the place it hadn't changed one bit just the way I liked it I ran 
up to my room with my suitcases and placed them down on the bed I felt a little faint I took a deep 
breathe before walking back down the stairs but I didn't make it to the bottom I blacked out and the 
next thing I knew I’d woken up in a hospital bed withsat beside me 
"What happened?" I asked...

I woke up after a restless sleep I got to my feet and went into the bathroom I looked at the large mirror 
that was in front of me I could see my reflection but I couldn't see me then I realised I’ve got to start 
with the man in the mirror how else would I be able to change if I didn't start with the one thing I see 
everyday of my life the doorbell rang I knew it wasso I quickly went downstairs and answered 
it 
"I know what I have to do" I said to him as he shut the door behind him 
"What?" he asked I looked in the mirror in the hall way
"The man in the mirror" I replied 
"That's what I came here to tell you but I see you've realised it yourself"said smiling 
"But the question is how" 
"It's simple don't go out clubbing don't be seen with other girls it's easy for you, you know you love
so you don't need anyone else"said
"So it's not as hard as I think then" I said looking at
"It’s as easy as ABC"replied 
"That is but how would I prove that to? I don't even know where she is" I said 
"I've got a plan why don't you talk to Daniel see if we can do that track by Michael Jackson" 
"Man In The Mirror?" I asked 
"Yes that's the one we've got to do a show in Cardiffis in Bristol not far from Cardiff get her 
andtickets only do the Michael Jackson track on the Cardiff date and only you are going to sing it"
said
"How do you knowis in Bristol with?" I asked 
"I got a call fromthis morning she saidhad to go to hospital last night..." 
"Why? What's wrong? Is she Ok?" I asked cuttingoff 
"I don't know why but Haley said she's fine just upset about it" I sighed glad she was alright 
"Good thank god for that" I said 
"You better go down to see Daniel I’ll wait here for you"said 
"I'll be back as soon as I can" I said leaving the house

I lied toa bit I did know whywas in hospital last night but it was something she had to 
tellif she wanted to that is I got my phone out and called
"Hello?" she answered
"Heya Hun it's me isnear you?" I asked 
"No why?"replied 
"I've got a plan you need to getto go to Cardiff on the 10th of next month to the CIA but 
don't tell her it's a Blue concert part of our touris going to do something he wants her back so 
badly it's a surprise and only for her I’ll send two tickets down so you don't have to pay or anything 
just show up" I told her 
"I think I can do that so I’ll see you in 11 days"said and hung up just ascame back 
through the door 
"He agreed it's a good thing I know the song I’m going to do it at the end of the show as part of an 
encore but only me and I’m going to get her up on stage"said 
"That's great man everything fixed withHaley we just need to send the tickets down to her" I said
"But what ifsee's the letter attached to it?"asked 
"I’ll type the letter and sayhas one two tickets to see McFly on the 10th" I told him cleverly 

Few Days Later

"post" I said handing her, her mail 
"WOW" she said looking at one
"What?" I asked peering over her shoulder 
"I've won two tickets to go and see McFly in concert on the 10th"said excited
"I thought Blue were performing at the CIA on the 10th" I said 
"I think they had to change it to the 9th"said 
"Oh right cool then omg what am I going to wear" I said freaking out 
"something nice if you want to catch Harry's eye"said knowing he was my favourite 
"ha, ha funny" I said leaving her alone as I ran up the stairs to look through my clothes I had to of had 
something half decent I could wear!

I'm so nervous I thought to myself as I was warming up my vocals tonight was the night I was 
going to get her back and she would stay mine forever and we'd grow old together 
"You ready to get her back?"asked 
"This is my last chance of happiness with her" I said as we left the dressing room and got on stage the 
music of 'If It Takes All Night' started I sawin andin the crowdlooked angry as she 
talked toI looked atworriedly

"You lied to me you said we were going to see McFly no I’m stuck at a Blue concert" I said angered
"It said McFly on the letter ok so don't blame me look please can we just stay"asked 
"Let's just hopedoesn't see me then" I replied 
"Good and I know you love Blue anyway"said sticking her tongue out at me making me laugh I 
enjoyed the show Blue had just done there encore and thenjust came out 
"I'd like to ask a girl up here" he said looking around the arena as screams from teenage girls got louder
walked over to the edge of the stage and spoke to one of the security guards something then 
that same security guard came up to me 
"wants you on stage" he said taking my hand
"No, no, no I can't go up there" I said looking athoping she'd help me but she just helped the 
security guard get me on stage 
"Please don't run off and just listen to me"said as he looked into my eyes some fans in the 
crowd recognised that I wasLee's ex and I couldn't just run of stage so I stood there watching 
him 
"Guys" he called to the band as music started playing and he sang.

hospital and they found a bleed they said I’d miscarried I didn't even know I was pregnant until then
