The Dumbartonshire & District League was a short lived supplementary competition that operated in 1901-02 and 1902-03. The first meeting of the new league took place at the Religious Institute Rooms in Glasgow on 30 January 1902. The six clubs which composed the new league initially included Thornliebank, but as they subsequently dropped out, the first season therefore saw Vale of Leven, Camelon, Renton, Alloa, Bathgate and Renton compete. The league winners were awarded the Dumbartonshire Cup. Vale of Leven beat Camelon in the 1901-02 championship play-off after they tied on points.
