Praying To My Knees
A Grand Daughters Prayer My Father was one who loved his family and his grandchildren Loved their Grandfather. When he passed away, One of my Fathers grandchildren, Angel who was 18 at the time she lost her Grandfather wrote this poem for him, and they were so close, {{ In Memory of Forest Nathan Stanley }}... Here Grandpa... I'll pull up a chair...Here, Grandpa...I'll smoothe down your hair...There, Grandpa, Let in some light...Please, Grandpa...Take just one more bite...It's okay, Grandpa... You can fish again some day... I Promise, Grandpa... I want let you slip away... It's late, Grandpa... Don't weary yourself with plans... Just lay down Grandpa... Let me hold your hand... You're tired, Grandpa... Let me kiss your weary face...I hate to leave you, Grandpa... All Alone In This Strange Place, I'll Be Back, Grandpa...Tomorrow's not that far away... Get some sleep, Grandpa... Good-Bye, now for today... ...I'm back, Grandpa... And here's your empty bed... I won't believe them, Grandpa...I know you can't be dead... I Promised, Grandpa... I Promised you'd get well... They tell me, Grandpa... That sometimes you just can't tell, ...Good-Bye, Grandpa... Let Jesus take you Home... I'm Holding you hand, Grandpa... So you won't have to go alone... They say it's for the best, Grandpa... And that now you feel no pain... We're the ones that hurt now, Grandpa... For you will never be replaced...
