Dean Road & East 82nd Street
This Federal 2001 is located to the southeast of the intersection of Dean Road and E. 82nd St.,
right by Thorton Oil. This is one of many 2001's that were placed around the county to
fill coverage gaps or replace old sirens.
I have to say that the 2001 is a very impressive siren to say the least. This is one of
the older style 2001's.
Here's a shot looking up the pole. This photo doesn't do justice to how big
the 2001's are. It blew me away the first time I saw one up close.
A closer look at the front of the 2001. You can clearly see the air intakes
on the bottom of the motor box.
Here's a close up shot of the underneath. The mounting plate is getting a little rusty.
Look at all the control boxes. The boxes here are the battery, motor starter, receiver, timer, and breaker box.
