What a wacky, but extemely fun this day turned out to be. It started out as us, Janet, Brynn and I going to see ROTK in costume at the Uptown in DC, but that never happened! Since the movie had been out for a couple of weeks, we thought we could just go up there, get tickets, and go inside and watch it. Not the case. When we drove up to the front, there was a line down the street and around the block! The movie was sold out and we were all dressed in LOTR costumes.  Janet had my hobbit dress on again, and Brynn and I were dressed as Merry and Pippin. So, we improvised, and since the National Cathedral was pretty close to the theatre, we decided to go there and take pictures in the garden and inside the actuall building, if we could, which we did. We got some strange looks, but a lot of smiles too, and we posed for a few pics for tourists, which was kind of funny.  The following pics were taken at the Cathedral.

....After we wandered all around the cathedral for several hours, we decided to head back over to VA for dinner, so we went to the Bilbo Baggins resturant, which is really cool! We were still in costume, and by complete coincidence, there was a large Tolkien gathering going on! Brynn and Janet went to investigate, and then came and got me immediately afterwards. We didn't stay long because my mom had come with us, and we didn't want to abandon her upstairs, but we dropped in and visited with them for a little bit, turns out Judy from Alleycatscratch was one of them! It was all very cool. :-) Hi Judy, if you're reading this!  Everything kind of happened so fast, so I don't remember exactly what the group was all about, I think some one said they were the largest Tolkien fan club out there!
Here is the only pic that came out from Bilbo Baggins.  I guess it was just too dark outside for a crappy throw-away camera. ;-)
