What is the makeup of a real Master?
Many slaves have asked that question over and over. This file will be confined
to the concerns of Irc, but has a great deal to do with how a Master would
comport himself in real life.
We see many pretenders here in the inn that come in pretending to be `
Masters, these are usually easily spotted, as their demeanor is not of a
Master, but some are actually quite convincing in their manner and their
speech. Too many of these so called Masters are really just vanilla role
players, some lie about their real ideals, many try to adapt skills that
they have learned online to real life situations and fail miserably either
because of `
lack of dedication to the ideals of a Master, they havent a clue of how
to carry this over to real life situations, and either revert to their real
vanilla self, or compensate with brutality, or let their ineptness ruin
a perfectly good slave. They have no idea what do do with a girl when she
is actually at their feet, ready to please and be controlled.

As a result they ruin a possibly great relationship, and prey on the feelings
of a dedicated slave, possibly doing her a great deal of mental and even
physical harm. Real emotional damage is often done to these slaves who want
nothing more than to please a real Master.

Here are some things that will help you girls in spotting real Masters.
Elements that make up a real Master are many. Listed below are some of these
elements.
Honor
Dedication
Skills
I will break down each of these elements for you here.

Honor:
He keeps to the ideals of those who chose the lifestyle of the Master, one
must be honorable in all things. He does not lie, he is honest about his
marital status, his lifestyle, and all other things.

Dedication:
He is dedicated to the ideals of the Gorean. In my mind this is not holding
strictly to the books, because that doesnt always translate well to irc,
nor real life situations. But he holds to the spirit of being Gorean.
`
Skills:
He has the necessary skills to be a Master. He knows how to properly master
a girl, without breaking her spirit, or being abusive. This doesnt mean
that he will not punish if he thinks its necessary.
He knows instinctively how to make a girl feel her slavery, and does so
with skill and the ability to make her understand his control.

Note about pretenders and players:
Beware of Masters with more than one nick, this in itself is an indication
that something is hidden. Beware of those that pay court to Free Women or
have Free Companions, this is an indication of a closet vanilla, ask yourself
this, would a real Master take one of these so called Free women when there
are `
many slaves to be had? The answer is obviously no. Beware of a Master that
disappears for long periods of time.
Question a perspective Master about his beliefs, his style of training,
his expectations of you as a slave. Be very through and if he fails to answer
in any way pass him up. On Irc a girl may choose her Master, and not be
forced into a collar she does not choose. If someone attempts to force collar

you, then the X button is there for you to use and you are quite justified
in using it. This parallels real life, you would not accept a Master in
real life that you didnt choose, dont do so on gor.
Beware of Masters that want addresses or phone numbers, or other personal
information that could lead to your home or real identity. There are some

real predators and pretenders out there, be careful. Dont let anyone badger
you into giving information you do not wish to give.
Lastly be careful, choose your Master carefully, and make sure he is real
not just a pretender. If you plan to bring this relationship to real life
this is extra important. Let other slaves you know talk to him , ask others
you trust `
of their opinions of this prospective Master, you will be suprised at the
information other slaves have about someone that has been around for a while.
For you slaves:
Once you have chosen a Master be completely honest with him about your situation,
to decieve or lie to him is unforgivable, and will put you in the same class
as the players and pretenders.
