- Arnold Owen organised this tribute to his brother Frank Owen International Brigader. -
The memorial plaque is on the Maerdy Bridge, Community Woodland Project
and it was unveiled in 2000 by Lance Rogers, also International Brigader.

This Bridge is dedicated to the memory of Frank Owen of Pentre Road Maerdy, killed in action at Brunete in July 1937 fighting fascism with the International Brigade during the Spanish Civil War.
