Madam,

I am directed to inform you with regret that the following report appears in an official list received from Germany through the Geneva Red Cross Society concerning Second Lieutenant S.E. Sanders, 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, reported Missing 30th November, 1917 : -

�Disc sent in by the Graves Officer of the Caudry Group 25th February, 1918. The owner has fallen in the neighbourhood of Masnieres and is buried there, Grave No.15�

In view of this report the death of this Officer is now officially accepted as having occurred on or shortly after 30th November, 1917.

I am to express the sympathy of the Army Council with you in your bereavement and to say that publication will be made in the official casualty list.
