Pretentious Beat Poetry, #1 —video script for a comedy sketch
I just discovered this long-forgotten script in a long-forgotten file folder in a long-forgotten file cabinet here at the hermitage. Hotcha!
"Pretentious Beat Poetry, #1" was written for another of those blue-sky Garland/Rooney-type projects: "Hey, Gang, I've got a barn. We can sing and dance. Let's put on a show!"
I don't recall now whether I added "#1" to the title to help flesh out the sense of pretension, or whether I liked writing faux beat poetry enough that I thought I might like to write a series of sketches using the same characters and locations.
