A 79 minute excursion into sentimentality, pits a romantic Stanwyck against a lot of petty middle-class people as a 'bad' woman who returns to the family she left ten years earlier because of gossip caused by her romance with another man. She tries to make up for past mistakes and the film is hindered by a saturation of weepy music and an unprobable happy ending

Titanic was a beautiful film, a fine script (Oscar winner) fine direction,acting,editing sound. Barbara won another 'Laurel' from the Motion Picture Exhibitors.
Among the actor was a very young Robert Wagner who become one of Barbara great friends and who credits her for having inspired his future career.

The film is an exercise in suspense built on accident and circumstances. A family's fishing trip turns in a nightmare,when the husband is trapped under a timber from a rotting jetty and the wife has only 4

hours to get help before the tide comes in. To save him, she is forced to give herself to an escaped convict, played by Ralph Meeker.
